With the advent of PCI the security and storage of sensitive card data (PAN, Expiry etc) requires that merchants take far more care of the data and perform annual audits of their IT infrastructure.
The payment gateway we use is designed to address these issues and to conform to PCI DSS standards. Essentially what it entails is that instead of the us storing the credit card number and details we send the details to the secure gateway which then provides us with a unique transaction identifier that refers to the credit card and it is this identifier that will be required in future transactions instead of the actual credit card number.
In summary, when you click on verify and save we send your credit card details to the gateway and receive a unique identifier back for your card. There is no transaction or cost involved.
The steps below will walk you through the process of storing your credit card information on the Nedbank PCI compliant servers for future transactions on your account.
